Peripheral Vision and How it helps Business !

Updated: Sep 26, 2018

What is peripheral vision?

Peripheral vision is a part of vision that occurs only on the side gaze. There is a broad set of non-central points in the visual field that is included in the notion of peripheral vision.

Let me tell you how this side gaze helps in overcoming potential hazards while driving - whether it is your Car or Business.

I am sure every one rides a car or bike nowadays and so it is easy to relate the importance of peripheral vision while driving a vehicle.

We invariably and unnoticingly rely on our peripheral vision to ensure that we stay away from colliding with other moving people or objects which are present adjacent to our path.

Peripheral vision helps us to anticipate and take precautionary steps, like taking foot of the pedal, switching gears, turning the steering wheel, sound horn, flashing indicators etc..there by avoiding or eliminating potential collisions and completing a smooth and trouble free journey to our chosen destination.

Coming to the world of Business, the journey to one's chosen destination or target will be smooth only if the Business has this peripheral vision of its performance. This side gaze can help the management anticipate the impending & probable dangers from external factors, that could impact the way the business is driven and help make effective decisions to take necessary preventive actions to ascertain that the journey towards the identified target is smooth and safe.

From the perspective of financial health of a Business, this side gaze is provided by the Financial Planning and Analysis function which supports you in getting more valuable insights on the existing performance as well as future performance of the Business with the help of financial analysis done using recorded and estimated data, as well as identifying the concern areas and highlighting the immediate preventive steps to be taken to avoid possible future challenges.

In short, what you see directly in front is not enough to guide you for a safe journey, you will also need to depend on your peripheral vision to ensure that your journey is safe and happy.
